DB opens renewed railway bridge at Lindwurmstrasse in Munich

DB put the renewed railway bridge at Lindwurmstrasse in Munich into operation on 5 December 2025; renewal of the overbridge, built around 1900, had begun in March 2024. On 12 December 2025 the faithfully restored Art Nouveau railing with the Lindwurm (a dragon-like creature from local legend) was fitted back, after a metal restorer had refurbished it since summer 2024. The full closure of the underpass has been lifted (pedestrians and cyclists from 11 December, outbound car traffic from 17 December 2025); road works will continue until 2028, and the report gives no costs.
