Bremen approves refurbishment of Bremerhaven container quays

Bremen's economic committee decided on 17 Dec 2025 to refurbish the container quays at Terminals 1 to 3a in Bremerhaven. About EUR 268 million is available for the first phase at Terminal 1, with a new quay and a heavy-load section (state funds, the infrastructure special fund and, probably, federal money), and construction is set at 3.5 years; Bremenports will build in stages. The full refurbishment runs into the early 2030s. The date is a placeholder: only the early 2030s are stated, set here to the end of 2033 (LOK Report, 18 Dec 2025).
