B31 bypass Immenstaad–Friedrichshafen fully opens

The new four-lane B 31 bypass between Immenstaad and Friedrichshafen/Waggershausen is 7.1 kilometers long and routes around the Friedrichshafen districts of Fischbach, Spaltenstein and Schnetzenhausen. Its centerpiece is a 700-meter twin-tube tunnel near Waggershausen along with a 50-meter-wide green bridge serving as a wildlife crossing; the project comprises 13 engineering structures and three interchanges in total. The ceremonial full traffic opening took place on August 24, 2021, after a partial section had already opened on August 5, 2020.
