Brandenburg's government draft for the 2027/2028 double budget provides rising allocations for rail, bus and road transport; the state parliament has yet to decide

Transport allocation of about EUR 941 million (2026), about EUR 981 million (2027) and about EUR 1.02 billion (2028); regional rail passenger services EUR 683.65 / 715.11 / 754.80 million, state roads EUR 107 / 115 / 115 million

According to the government draft, Brandenburg's transport budget exceeds EUR 1 billion for the first time in 2028, almost double the 2009 level. About three quarters goes to regional rail passenger services, which largely secures existing transport contracts and the timetable; municipal buses are to receive between EUR 103.38 million and EUR 108.21 million a year. All figures are draft allocations still subject to a vote by the state parliament. (LOK Report, 18 Sep 2026; second source: Radio Cottbus, 18 Sep 2026)
