On 10 June 2026 Siemens Mobility opened a new Rail Service Center in Munich-Allach after a comprehensive conversion; it serves as the competence centre for maintaining Vectron locomotives, from overhauls to accident repairs. The number of overhauls and accident repairs it can handle rises from about 25 to up to 80 a year; Siemens says it has invested about EUR 250 million in total in expanding the Allach site, where it employs about 2,500 people, and the report names no new jobs. The opening coincided with the presentation of the digital Vectron X locomotive (LOK Report, 10 Jun 2026). Update (10 June 2026): Siemens Mobility has opened the rebuilt Rail Service Center in Munich-Allach; overhaul capacity is to rise from about 25 to up to 80 locomotives a year.
