- Project
- New car-train loading terminal Hamburg-Eidelstedt
- Investment
- approx. EUR 300 million (figure cited by Prellbock Altona)
- Status
- Planned; planning approval declared unlawful and not enforceable by the Higher Administrative Court on 10 November 2025
DB InfraGO plans a new loading facility for car-carrying trains at Eidelstedt station, with four tracks, two platforms and a car park deck, replacing the Altona facility that falls away when the long-distance station moves to Diebsteich; commissioning was targeted for December 2029 together with the new station (DB, 10 Oct 2025). On 10 November 2025 the Hamburg Higher Administrative Court declared the 22 August 2022 planning approval unlawful and not enforceable because of flaws in the drainage concept, but did not allow an appeal on points of law; the flaws can be remedied in a supplementary procedure and the environmental group Prellbock's other objections were dismissed. Prellbock puts the latest cost figure at EUR 300 million. The date is a placeholder: only the December 2029 timetable change is given. (LOK Report, 10 Nov 2025)
