State company ETYFA launched a restricted tender in August 2026 for the remaining works on the LNG import terminal, estimated at €180m and to be completed within 24 months. Energy Minister Damianos named 2030 for operation on 19 Oct 2026, with the award before summer 2027; the contract with the Chinese contractor had been terminated in July 2024 after four completion dates were missed. 31 Dec 2030 is a placeholder; announced on 3 Aug 2026 (Cyprus Mail, 19 Oct 2026; second source: DOM).
