Talks paused in 2013 resumed in 2021 and concluded in January 2026. The Commission submitted the proposals for signature to the Council on 11 September 2026; no official signing date has been set. Tariffs are to be removed on over 90 percent of EU tariff lines and 86 percent of Indian ones.
