Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) announced on 24 July 2026 that as of the 09:00 cut-off it held acceptances for 10,720,331 Addiko shares — 55.58% of all shares covered by the offer. That passed the minimum acceptance threshold of more than 55% and effectively secured control. The figure includes 1,878,167 shares held by Alta Group d.o.o. (9.63% of share capital); no withdrawal declarations had been received by the cut-off. The voluntary takeover offer published on 14 May 2026 under section 25a of the Austrian Takeover Act offers €26.50 per share (raised in May from an original €23.05), and the initial acceptance period ended on 22 July 2026. Update: after the acceptance period closed on 29 July 2026 at 17:00, RBI reported acceptances for 10,831,435 shares, or 56.16% — the final result came earlier than initially announced and confirms that the 55% threshold was passed. Settlement, the statutory grace period and completion are still outstanding. UPDATE (3 August 2026): RBI formally published the result and opened the statutory sell-out period, which runs from 3 August 2026 until 5.00 p.m. CET on 3 November 2026. Addiko shareholders who had previously accepted the competing offer from Nova Ljubljanska banka may switch to the RBI offer during this period by written declaration to their custodian bank. Update (offer document of 3 Aug 2026): All closing conditions must be satisfied by 14 May 2027 at the latest. — Source: https://www.ots.at/presseaussendung/EQS_20260724_EQS0001/eqs-news-rbi-zum-zwischenstand-der-annahme-des-freiwilligen-oeffentlichen-uebernahmeangebots-fuer-saemtliche-addiko-aktien-zum-24-juli-2026

The roughly 37 km Marchegg Ostbahn line between Vienna-Stadlau and the state border at Marchegg has been under double-tracking and electrification since 2015, including replacing level crossings with over-/underpasses, noise barriers, and barrier-free rebuilding of nine stations. A partial section (Wien-Stadlau–Marchegg, selective double-track incl. electrification) was already completed by ÖBB in December 2022; full double-tracking was scheduled for completion by end of 2025. The source does not state a specific investment figure. Update (11 Oct 2025): Since 11 October 2025, electrically hauled trains have again run through between Vienna and Bratislava on the Marchegger Ostbahn; the line had been closed since 4 March 2024. With the Slovak section up to Bratislava now finished, the gap is closed; on the 37 km Austrian section, double-tracking, electrification, step-free stations and the replacement of all level crossings in Lower Austria by underpasses are complete. The Rex8 takes 56 minutes from Wien Hbf to Bratislava hl. st. at up to 160 km/h; there are 38 regional services a day (19 each way), and four Eurocity pairs are added at the timetable change on 14 December 2025 (46 services in total).
