<summary>ÖBB has completed the upgrade of the new Kundl–Baumkirchen line in the Tyrolean Lower Inn Valley, which has formed the backbone of the valley's rail infrastructure since 2012 and is part of the northern access to the Brenner Base Tunnel. After 64 days of works starting on 10 July 2026, all trains in the Münsterertunnel and Terfenertunnel (about 16 km long according to ÖBB) now run on ETCS only, the light signals have been removed and block sections shortened, so that more trains can run at shorter intervals. At Vomp, ÖBB and Brenner Basistunnel SE equipped an overtaking station: about two kilometres of the tunnel had already been prepared with two extra tracks, and eight switches and modern rail technology have now been added so that freight trains can give way to faster passenger trains. Long-distance trains used the existing surface line during the closure; the restrictions on regional services end on 14 September 2026. <summary>ÖBB replaced the more than 60-year-old steel railway bridge at Rauchmühle in eastern Innsbruck, which carried about 270 trains a day on the western main line (Weststrecke), with a concrete bridge. The deck (about 1,400 tonnes including auxiliary structures, 29 m span, 325 m²) was cast beside Hallerstrasse and moved about 100 metres across the road onto its abutments on 18 January 2026 using self-propelled transporters. The line between Rum and Innsbruck Hbf was closed from 7 January 2026 (23 days, up to 90 replacement buses); after a load test with two locomotives on 29 January 2026, about 270 trains a day were due to run over the new bridge again from 30 January 2026, and ÖBB gives no cost figure (LOK Report, 29 Jan 2026). — Sources: https://www.lok-report.de/news/europa/oesterreich/64779-oesterreich-belastungstest-rauchmuehlbruecke.html · https://www.lok-report.de/news/europa/oesterreich/64496-oesterreich-spektakulaerer-oebb-brueckenschlag-ueber-die-hallerstrasse.html · https://www.lok-report.de/news/europa/oesterreich/64022-oesterreich-tragwerk-fuer-die-neue-rauchmuehlbruecke-zeitgerecht-vorgefertigt.html</summary>

<summary>The new 380/220 kV substation in Nauders, Tyrol, links via a roughly 27 km 220 kV line (1.2 km of it underground) to the Glurns/Glorenza substation in South Tyrol, forming the third electrical interconnection between Austria and Italy after 1952 and 2013. The line provides transmission capacity of up to 300 MW; Austrian Power Grid invested about EUR 91.5 million, with Terna investing a further EUR 80 million on the Italian side.
