ČEZ subsidiary ČEZ Invest Slovensko signed the contract on 7 October 2026 to sell its 49% stake in the project company JESS for €189m (about CZK 4.6bn) to state-owned JAVYS, which already holds 51%; the Slovak state thus takes sole control of the planned new nuclear power plant at Jaslovské Bohunice. The two partners set up JESS in 2009; Robert Fico's government now wants the new reactor built under state ownership. The price had caused a dispute with the economy ministry before a further valuation confirmed the original figure. ČEZ expects settlement within days (e15.cz, 7 Oct 2026). — Sources: https://www.e15.cz/byznys/prumysl-a-energetika/cez-konci-v-projektu-nove-slovenske-jaderne-elektrarny-fico-ziska-plnou-kontrolu-1436361 · https://oenergetice.cz/en/nuclear-power/cez-set-to-exit-jess-bratislava-earmarks-czk-4-6-billion-for-buyout

Sparkling-wine maker Hubert J.E., which marked its 200th anniversary last year, will end production in Sereď by the end of the year; output moves to the BOHEMIA SEKT group's sister plants in Starý Plzenec and Mikulov. Around 60 employees are affected, some of whom are to be offered positions at other group plants; the decision followed an analysis showing capacity in Sereď could not be used economically despite investment. The Hubert brand remains on the Slovak market (Sereď Online, 18.09.2026). — Source: http://www.seredonline.sk/2026/09/18/sered-prichadza-o-kus-svojej-historie-spolocnost-hubert-j-e-ukonci-vyrobu-o-pracu-ma-prist-asi-60-ludi/

The Slovak subsidiary of the Hungarian Jász-Plasztik group is cutting about 228 jobs at its plant in Galanta, mainly in production. According to the factsheet the cuts are linked to the planned closure of the Samsung plant in Galanta at the end of May 2026, as Samsung was a key customer; the dismissals run as collective redundancy procedures (Eurofound European Restructuring Monitor, March 2026). — Source: https://apps.eurofound.europa.eu/restructuring-events/detail/204446
