On 1 August 2026 Network Rail opened the new Okehampton Interchange station on the Dartmoor Line between Exeter and Okehampton, which reopened in 2021; it is two minutes by car from the A30 and has a 100 m platform with step-free access via a covered bridge with a lift, plus a car park for 200 cars. The government funded the scheme with GBP 13.5 million (EUR 15.8 million), and West Devon Borough Council and Devon County Council contributed co-funding of GBP 4.5 million (EUR 5.3 million); Great Western Railway runs the trains. A shared cycle and footpath north of the station links it with the residential areas in the east of Okehampton (LOK Report, 3 Aug 2026). — Source: https://www.lok-report.de/news/europa/grossbritannien/grossbritannien-der-bahnhof-okehampton-interchange-in-devon-ist-am-01-08-2026-eroeffnet-worden.html
