The Norwegian fingerprint-sensor maker says it can no longer assume it will continue as a going concern after its financing fell through and the sale of its legacy business did not materialise. The board is preparing a bankruptcy petition that it intends to file with the competent district court on 12 October 2026. Annual operating costs had previously been cut from about NOK 73m to about NOK 41m, and the company says it will keep assessing alternatives until the filing. The release gives no figure for affected staff (NEXT Biometrics, Oslo Børs filing, 9 Oct 2026). Update (13 Oct 2026): On 12 Oct 2026 the board resolved that the parent and its subsidiary NEXT Biometrics AS file for bankruptcy; the petitions go to Oslo District Court and a trustee will be appointed, as no new financing materialised (NEXT Biometrics, Oslo Børs filing, 12 Oct 2026). — Sources: https://newsweb.oslobors.no/message/683850 · https://www.biometricupdate.com/202610/next-biometrics-to-file-for-bankruptcy · https://newsweb.oslobors.no/message/683958

DNB, Norway's largest bank, is cutting around 400 full-time positions as part of a wide-ranging reorganisation of its Technology & Services division. The bank attributes the move to its use of agentic AI, which now handles previously manual work, notably customer data checks (KYC) as well as software development and coding. Restructuring costs will be booked in the fourth quarter of 2026, the reduction is to be completed in the same quarter and the full cost effect is expected from the second quarter of 2027 (DNB, stock exchange announcement, 06.10.2026). — Source: https://newsweb.oslobors.no/message/683620

🤝 DNO to pay $5.214 per share for Capricorn Energy (Norway / United Kingdom)

Norwegian oil and gas producer DNO announced on 1 September 2026 a cash offer recommended by the Capricorn board for Edinburgh-based Capricorn Energy: USD 4.224 per share in cash plus a USD 0.99 special dividend, together USD 5.214 (about 384 pence) per share or an equity value of around USD 396 million — a 45% premium to the undisturbed share price. DNO thereby outbids Genel Energy's July offer (USD 4.74 per share, about USD 360 million) and gains entry to Egypt's upstream sector through Capricorn's production interests (Offshore Technology, 1 September 2026). Update (17 Sep 2026): On 17 September 2026 DNO and Capricorn agreed a revised offer structure: instead of $4.224 in cash plus a planned $0.99 special dividend, DNO Bidco pays the full $5.214 per share (about 388p) in cash, and the special dividend falls away. The total value of around $396m is unchanged, and the Capricorn board intends to recommend the revised offer unanimously (AskTraders, 17 Sep 2026). Update (21 Sept 2026): Capricorn Energy published the scheme document for the acquisition by DNO Bidco on 21 September 2026, meeting the UK Takeover Code's 28-day deadline following the 1 September 2026 announcement. The dates of the Court Meeting and General Meeting, and the scheme's effective date, are set out in the offer document and were not stated in the announcement (GlobeNewswire via MENAFN, 21 Sept 2026). Update (25.09.2026): Genel Energy raised its offer to USD 5.74 per share (about USD 436m); Capricorn's board withdrew its recommendation of DNO and now recommends Genel. The DNO offer has not lapsed; the relevant amount is carried by follow-up entry 7274828d (Capricorn stock exchange announcement via Investegate, 25.09.2026). Update (28.09.2026): DNO declared the terms of its USD 5.214 per share cash offer final — it ruled out raising it in response to Genel's USD 5.74 and will not switch to a contractual takeover offer. DNO therefore remains below the Genel offer, which Capricorn's board recommends (follow-up entry 7274828d) (ADVFN, 28.09.2026: https://uk.advfn.com/market-news/article/23609/capricorn-energy-shares-fall-as-dno-declares-5-214-offer-final). — Source: https://www.dno.no/en/investors/announcements/recommended-cash-acquisition-of-capricorn-energy-plc-2026-09-01/

Siemens Mobility and Sporveien put the radio-based Trainguard MT train control system (CBTC, grade of automation GoA2) into passenger service on a first 3 km section of the Oslo metro on 2 December 2025. The EUR 270 million contract, awarded in 2021, covers the complete replacement of the signalling system across the 86 km network and the integration of the 8 km Fornebubanen with six stations; no completion date for the whole network is given. According to Siemens, capacity rises from 28 to 36 trains per hour (about 30 per cent), with up to 40 technically possible, and Oslo is the first metro in Europe to use public LTE mobile networks for safety-critical train control.
