🚄 Hochbahn rebuilds Ohlsdorf U1 platform and bridge by October (Germany)

Hochbahn is closing the U1 from 13 July to 14 October 2026 between Fuhlsbüttel Nord and Lattenkamp (replacement buses) and rebuilding the Ohlsdorf platform, which is over 100 years old, from scratch, together with the roughly 45 m U-Bahn bridge over Alsterdorfer Strasse; the bridge over the Alster is also being repaired and track and systems renewed. At the same time it is shifting the U1 tracks outward at Sengelmannstrasse so the future U5 can run in the centre, allowing a cross-platform interchange; the U5 is due to run there from 2029 to City Nord and to Bramfeld from 2033. After service resumes on 15 October, trains pass through Ohlsdorf without stopping until 28 October 2026. The date is a placeholder: it marks the end of these non-stop passes; no costs are given. Announced on 22 June 2026.
Hamburg-based solar park operator and developer Enerparc AG filed for insolvency in early September 2026; the Hamburg district court appointed lawyer Stefan Denkhaus as preliminary insolvency administrator on 7 September 2026. Around 380 of the group's roughly 700 employees are directly affected by the holding company's insolvency — just six months after the firm had secured financing of up to EUR 1 billion (pv magazine, 7 September 2026). Update (15 Sept 2026): Provisional administrator Stefan Denkhaus named the trigger as a project-related financing for solar projects with battery storage that collapsed at the end of June 2026 — explicitly not the financing package of up to EUR 1 billion announced in March 2026. Enerparc was subsequently unable to meet its obligations for ordered supplies. Sister companies Pvwerk and Sonnen Tiefbau are now also in provisional self-administered insolvency. Of the 90 solar plants under construction, the 14 to 15 most advanced projects are being examined as a priority to see whether they can continue to be built during the proceedings; an investor process is to start shortly (pv magazine, 15 Sept 2026). — Source: https://www.pv-magazine.de/2026/09/07/enerparc-muss-insolvenz-anmelden/

On 31 August 2026 the Verbindungsbahn between Hamburg Hbf and Altona reopened after its closure; the first train over the new Sternbrücke was the RE 70 from Kiel at about 4:15, and on average some 1,000 long-distance, regional and S-Bahn trains a day use it. The 108 m, 3,700 t bridge, built over 14 months, was moved about 500 m and lowered into place on 30/31 July 2026; the closure that began on 17 July was extended in July from mid to end of August because of extra overhead-line masts and ground conditions that differed from surveys. Works for relocating Altona station to Diebsteich were carried out in the same window.
As part of the 2026 "Qualitätsoffensive", DB InfraGO renovated the 163 km Hamburg–Hannover line between 1 May and 10 July 2026: 81 km of track, 44 switches, two railway bridges and four stations (incl. Stelle, Suderburg, Großburgwedel, Langenhagen) were renewed, at a cost of around EUR 300 million. Trains resumed service from the evening of 10 July (freight) / morning of 11 July 2026 (passenger); remaining works on the Suderburg pedestrian tunnel continue until end of July 2026.
