Hungarian drone maker ABZ Innovation opened its new global manufacturing centre in Szentendre on 17.09.2026 — according to the city, one of Europe's largest facilities built specifically for civilian drones. The plant is about four times the size of the company's previous site; ABZ aims to triple production in 2026 and expand capacity further in 2027. Hungary's MOL is acquiring from Shell the company BG Cyprus, which holds 35% of the non-operated Aphrodite gas field; the price is up to USD 720m including milestone-linked payments. The field holds about 104 bcm of gas; Chevron operates it (35%) and NewMed holds 30%. A final investment decision is planned for 2027 and first gas for 2031 via a 250 km pipeline to Egypt. GE Vernova is modernising its gas turbine plant in Veresegyház for USD 24.5m — including robotic welding cells and a thermal barrier coating facility — and is adding a solar park and an energy storage unit at the site.
