Sunrise, by its own account Switzerland's second-largest telecoms group, is evaluating the elimination of up to 450 of its current 2,900 full-time positions — just under 16% of its headcount. According to the company statement, a comprehensive realignment of its operating model is under review in order to "anticipate emerging market and technology developments"; in a first phase the company is evaluating a review of supplier contracts alongside the job cuts. The legally required consultation process with employee representatives and the union Syndicom is to take place in the fourth quarter of 2026. Staff in shops, sales and customer service are to be largely exempt and apprentices spared entirely; Sunrise says it will provide further details on the transformation programme once the evaluation is complete. This is a separate programme in addition to the cut of up to 190 positions announced on 8 January 2026 (entry 4896ec6a), whose consultation ended in February/March 2026, when headcount stood at 2,653 full-time positions. (Source: SRF News/AWP, 21 Sep 2026) Update (25 October 2026): the consultation with employee representatives and syndicom has ended: Sunrise will make 358 redundancies instead of the up to 450 originally considered; the social plan was improved, especially for older staff, and a voluntary leaver programme is offered for the first time in selected areas (PCtipp, 25 October 2026). — Sources: https://www.srf.ch/news/schweiz/telekomriese-sunrise-prueft-abbau-von-450-vollzeitstellen · https://www.pctipp.ch/themen/news/sunrise-schliesst-konsultationsverfahren-ab

On 6 August 2026 Eurazeo announced it had entered exclusive negotiations with Swiss investor Partners Group over the sale of its majority stake in French natural-cosmetics company Aroma-Zone, with Eurazeo Capital V reinvesting alongside the buyer as a minority shareholder. The release quantifies only Eurazeo's gross proceeds of about EUR 576m and gives no enterprise valuation — the figure of around EUR 2bn (roughly three times the 2021 entry value) comes from consistent press reports by CFNEWS and Zonebourse. Founded in 1999 by the Vausselin family, the B Corp-certified company has more than 5 million active customers and has more than tripled its revenue since Eurazeo invested in 2021. The package includes CHF 1.68 billion in federal contributions to urban transport projects, the deletion of 68 small to medium rail projects worth about CHF 2.5 billion and the abandonment of 31 national road projects (about CHF 16 billion); the rail expansion also requires extending the VAT per mille for the Rail Infrastructure Fund.

On 12 June 2026 the Federal Council sent out for consultation an extension of operating contributions for Alpine-crossing unaccompanied combined transport from 2030 to 2035; it also wants to forgo the phased subsidy reduction provided for by law until 2029, with a gradual decline from 2030. In total CHF 486 million is planned for 2027 to 2035 (CHF 55 to 59 million a year in 2027–2030, about CHF 50 million a year afterwards), paid from the mineral oil tax. The trigger is the falling rail share of Alpine-crossing freight, which stood at 68.6 per cent in 2025; the Federal Council is thereby implementing two identical motions and does not expect a trend reversal before the end of the decade. According to Pro Bahn Schweiz, spending on public transport falls by about CHF 398 million over 2027 to 2029, whereas the Federal Council had originally wanted to cut more than CHF 1 billion; the Rail Infrastructure Fund would also lose about CHF 200 million. The association particularly criticises the removal of CHF 59.2 million for cross-border rail passenger services.
📜 Federal Council sets key parameters for transport expansion to 2045

On 28 January 2026 the Federal Council set the course for transport expansion to 2045 and instructed DETEC (UVEK) to draw up a joint consultation bill for rail, national roads and urban-transport programmes by the end of June 2026; the starting point was extra costs of about CHF 14 billion for the rail projects planned so far if no countermeasures were taken, plus a road expansion bill rejected at the ballot, and the basis is the ETH Zurich expert report (Prof. Ulrich Weidmann) that the Federal Council noted on 8 October 2025. For rail, key projects of at least CHF 10 billion are planned, including Zimmerberg Base Tunnel II, the expansion of Geneva Cornavin and Basel SBB, the first stage of the Lucerne through station and the Grimsel tunnel; further key projects of at least CHF 7 billion are to follow in 2031, while the Herzstück Basel is considered unfeasible in its present form. On the roads, the Federal Council takes two A1 projects worth about CHF 1.5 billion into the 2027 expansion step (Aarau-Ost–Birrfeld, Perly–Bernex), and over 30 projects worth about CHF 18 billion are dropped; rail is to receive about CHF 8 billion more by 2045 through an extension of the VAT per mille, and in future only projects with a completed preliminary design will enter an expansion step.
