The roughly 56 km high-speed line links Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, running more than half its length in tunnels and on bridges through the mountains; the final section (Jerusalem-Navon–Ben Gurion Airport) opened on 25 September 2018, with full Tel Aviv-Jerusalem through-service following by end of 2019. Operator Israel Railways awarded key tunnel sections to European firms: Italy's Impresa Pizzarotti built the 11.6 km tunnel near Sha'ar HaGai, and Germany's Max Bögl built the final section into Jerusalem-Navon station. Total cost is cited at roughly NIS 6.5-9 billion depending on the source. — Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tel_Aviv%E2%80%93Jerusalem_railway
