<summary>The two workshop companies of the Railpool group, KTG in Duisburg and RAILPOOL Lokservice with two sites in Hamburg, have operated as a single company since 1 September 2026, with KTG merged into Lokservice. Railpool says this is meant to simplify cooperation between the sites and create clear structures; know-how, local work and both managing directors remain, with Christoph Engel mainly covering Hamburg and Carsten Janneck Duisburg. The report gives no costs, job numbers or other figures for the merger; Railpool, founded in Munich in 2008, runs six workshops of its own and leases more than 600 electric and hybrid locomotives. <summary>Siemens Mobility and locomotive lessor Railpool have signed a basic agreement with Consorzio ZAI to buy a 15,000 m² plot in the Verona Interporto logistics hub. Together they plan to invest about EUR 20 million in an open-access locomotive depot servicing locomotives from different manufacturers: five tracks for light maintenance, one track with a wheel lathe, testing of multi-system and DC locomotives, and maintenance for all major European train protection systems. The partners expect markedly more freight on rail by 2032, since the Brenner Base Tunnel is expected to double rail transport capacity across the Alps; the depot will complement Siemens' service centre in Novara. The announcement gives neither an opening date nor a job figure.
