Following the completion on 16 July 2026 of the GameStop takeover by a French-Québécois consortium of entrepreneurs (Stephan Tétrault, Jean-François Chenail, Sandra and Stephen Callahan), Micromania-Zing has announced a modernisation plan: a flagship store of more than 500 m² is to open in the Paris region in autumn 2026, with four to six comparable sites in other large French cities to follow in 2027. The network of 310 stores is to be retained and the company says no mass redundancies are planned; no investment figure was given. The details come from a company statement and an interview with communications head Philippe Renaudin. — Source: https://echosplus.com/2026/07/27/apres-son-rachat-micromania-lance-un-vaste-plan-de-modernisation/
