<summary>The shipping and logistics group CMA CGM has completed its acquisition of Freightliner Ltd, a leading British provider of intermodal rail freight services; the report gives no purchase price. By its own account Freightliner has 10 terminals and 2,000 wagons and is to continue as an independent intermodal service provider open to several customers. The bulk freight business has been split off as Heavy Haul Rail (17 million tonnes of freight a year, 95 locomotives, 950 staff) and starts out independently under its existing owners, who also own freight railways in Poland, Germany and the Netherlands; the Freightliner name and the intermodal business went to CMA CGM (LOK Report, 30 Jan 2026). — Source: https://www.lok-report.de/news/europa/grossbritannien/64801-grossbritannien-cma-cgm-group-schliesst-uebernahme-von-freightliner-uk-ab-heavy-haul-rail-startet.html</summary>

<summary>French shipping line CMA CGM intends to take a minority stake in Container Terminal Hamburg; its owner EUROGATE says talks cover 20 per cent. No price is given, but investment commitments have been agreed, including for the planned western extension of the terminal at Waltershofer Hafen. Hamburg's economics senator welcomed the move. (LOK Report, 13 Nov 2025) Update (30.06.2026): the deal has not yet closed. A term sheet for 20% of EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg GmbH was signed with CMA Terminals (CMA CGM) in the third quarter of 2025, followed on 29.06.2026 by a similar one with Hanseatic Global Terminals (Hapag-Lloyd) for a further 20%; the binding agreements are still being negotiated and will then need corporate and regulatory approval (Hogan Lovells, statement as adviser to EUROGATE, 30.06.2026). — Sources: https://www.lok-report.de/news/deutschland/aus-den-laendern/63077-hamburg-cma-cgm-beabsichtigt-eine-minderheitsbeteiligung-am-container-terminal-hamburg.html · https://www.hlc.com/en/news/hogan-lovells-beraet-eurogate-bei-strategischen-partnerschaften-mit-cma-und-hapag-lloyd-am-eurogate-container-terminal-hamburg</summary>
